Handzel & Associates Ltd. was established in 1989 and only one agent originally operated it.
One year later, after the mandatory automobile insurance law took affect in Illinois, Handzel & Associates Ltd. started to grow rapidly and quickly established itself as one of the biggest insurance agencies in Chicago.
Soon, Handzel & Associates Ltd. was able to offer a full spectrum of insurance products. Our agency started to expand rapidly and opened several new locations: in 1992 on the south side of Chicago, followed by Niles, Chicago’s northwest suburb, in 1995, and Wood Dale, Chicago’s western suburb, in September of 2004.
In October of 2006 Handzel & Associates Ltd. opened its office located at 4429a N. Harlem Ave. in Norridge.
In June of 2008 Handzel & Associates Ltd. opened its newest office, located at 6226 W. Cermak Rd. in Berwyn.
At the beginning our agency specialized mainly in individual automobile insurance policies underwritten by local insurance companies.
In 1996 Handzel & Associates Ltd. signed a contract to represent one of the biggest insurance companies in the USA – CNA Insurance Company. This allowed us to compete on a wide range of insurance markets.
Since that time Handzel & Associates Ltd. has significantly increased its offer. Currently our agency represents over thirty renowned insurance companies, such as Travelers, Safeco, Progressive, AIG, Hanover, The Hartford, Constitutional Casualty Company, AAA, Rockford Mutual, Zurich, BCBC of Illinois, Unicare, Humana and many others. Handzel & Associates has become an undisputed leader.
Handzel & Associates Ltd. offers automobile insurance to every individual, including high-risk drivers requiring proof of Financial Responsibility - SR-22 and drivers with international driver’s license. Of course we have excellent prices for drivers with a clean driving record!

You can visit any of our locations to purchase membership in AAA – the biggest automobile club in the USA, which offers protection for unexpected costs of towing, lock replacement or flat tire. AAA membership card also works as a traffic bond card. AAA members receive free maps, tourist guides and take advantage of many discounts and rebates at hotels, car rentals and cultural, sporting events. This card pays for itself!
Through the years we have created a large network of insurance offices, because of this we are easily accessible on the north and south sides of Chicago, as well the suburbs. We sell insurance policies over the phone and online. We are able to offer insurance products for all residents of Illinois.
